Spotlight on Gay Fad Studios: Nestled in the heart of Lancaster, Ohio, Gay Fad Studios is a hidden gem that is breathing new life into the city’s storied glassmaking tradition. Gay Fad Studios, originally founded by trailblazing artist Fran Taylor in 1939, is embracing its heritage and introducing a new generation to the beauty of hand-painted glassware.

Owners Jason and David Annecy honor Taylor’s legacy by creating stunning glass art while fostering a renewed appreciation for craftsmanship. Through workshops, exhibits, and collaborations with local artisans, Gay Fad Studios is not only preserving an important piece of Lancaster’s history but also inspiring a cultural and economic revival in the region.

Visitors are welcomed into this little-known treasure to witness firsthand how creativity and innovation are reigniting Lancaster’s glassmaking legacy.

New in 2024 was Bottoms Up, a mid-century barware show hosted by Gay Fad Studios, celebrating creativity, inclusivity, and community. The event featured special guest artist Shag as well as live entertainment, local art, and unique activities that honored the studio's historic legacy in glass artistry and attracted over 10,000 visitors in one weekend.
